I am currently on a four week detox ruoten. I have to give up the following:
Foods to Avoid
+ Added sugar - ok, np
+ Processed foods or beverages - translation: no coffee shop coffees, this is the hard one.
+ Alcohol - np I don't drink
+ Caffeine - again no coffee or soda.
+ Wheat/gluten - I am a bread alcholic. This is going to be hard.
+ Eggs - np I will substitute with bananas.
+ Dairy - no coffee means no creamer, but no cheese or yogurt? Come on!
+ Peanut products - np I will hold off on the pb&js.
+ Fruit juices (very high in sugar) - this one they counterdict they say no, but then they say as long as it does not have added sugar & as long as I drink it in small amounts ...
+ Soy, including soy sauce - this sucks, I use soy in all my meat prep.
+ Corn - come on! I love corn on the cob & it's that season, why am I doing this again?
Ok, so here is why I am cutting out all the goodness in my life. I have been getting really bad headaches & I think that it's because of a food allergy. So in order to figure out which is the culprit I have to go without all & slowly add back the foods I love the most. I really hope I the headaches go away.
I start out with light yoga, drinking a lot water, go to sleep earlier everyday & to start walking every other day. I have a list of veggan recipies & yoga moves to add to my current work out. I only have to go with out all of the above for a week & then I am start adding them back in. So it only one week of torment. Not bad, I can live with that.
